Seminary Scholarship

About: If you are a student who is studying to become a pastor, and you are a member of a church in our classis, this is for you. It is a scholarship that goes towards the cost of your education.

There are two different scholarships that Classis Lake Superior provides, depending on where you are a student:

Calvin Theological Seminary: This scholarship is managed directly by the financial aid department of Calvin Seminary. Please speak to them in order to learn more and apply; however, we do ask that you be in contact with the Classis Ministry Leadership Team to keep us updated on your status.

Missional Leadership Grant (Canada)

About: This is a grant fund administered by the Canadian Home Missions Committee. It’s designed to give opportunities for a small group of people in a church to attend a conference and bring what they learned back to their church. Church Planting Fund

About: The Church Planting Fund is to be used for one-time grants or, in special circumstances, interest-free loans to be used by a new church plant for purchasing land and/or an existing building and/or expenses related to church planting. The requests shall be facilitated and brought to the floor of Classis by the respective Home Missions Committees in consultation with denominational Home Missions.

Church Revitalization Fund

About: The Church Revitalization Fund is to be distributed as one-time grants or, in special circumstances, interest-free loans for specific projects or exploration thereof, directed at encouraging revitalization within established churches in classis. The requests shall be facilitated and brought to the floor of classis by the respective Home Missions Committees in consultation with denominational Home Missions.
